Pasquotank County is located in the northeast
corner of North Carolina and centrally located
on the eastern seaboard of the United States.
The county is near the Virginia-North Carolina
state line and is a short driving distance to major
cities such as Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Newport
News. Nearby interstate highways,
international airports, international ports and
rail provide transportation access to major US
and international destinations.
US Highway 17/158 runs southeast to northwest through the
county and links northward via Interstate 64 to
the Hampton Roads Area and southwest to the
Raleigh-Research Triangle Park Area.
Pasquotank County offers the right
ingredients for business success: abundant
labor with a strong work ethic; excellent
transportation network; available sites and
buildings at competitive prices; and an
unsurpassed quality of life with the benefits of
nearby metropolitan and coastal areas. Pasquotank County is home to Elizabeth City
State University and the US Coast Guard's Search
& Rescue Unit.
The City of Elizabeth City, Pasquotank County,
and the Elizabeth City-Pasquotank County
Regional Airport are working collaboratively in
the development of the Elizabeth City Aviation
Research & Commerce Development Park to support
the growth of
civilian and private contracting companies in
the area.
