go. Interstate Highway I-95, Interstate
Quality US Highway 64; and US Highways
17, 264 and 158 place our region within
a day’s drive of 75% of the U.S.
population. Over 60 motor freight
carriers serve the region. |

Raleigh-Durham International,
Richmond International, and
Norfolk International Airports are
served by most major airlines with
direct flights to major cities,
including Charlotte, Washington, D.C.,
Nashville, Philadelphia, Detroit, Los
Angeles and more. More than 200
destinations around the world can be
reached with a single connection.

general aviation airports are located in

CSX Transportation &
Norfolk Southern
railroads, along with several shortline
railroads, including NC/VA Railroad, Chesapeake Albemarle Railroad, and

and piggyback service. AMTRAK passenger
rail service is available in nearby
Rocky Mount, NC and
Richmond, VA. |

accessible to three modern deep-water
ports in
Wilmington and
Morehead City,
NC as well as the
Virginia Ports in the
Hampton Roads Area of Virginia - the
second busiest port on the US East Coast. A number

from the Port of Virginia via four-laned
US Highway 17.
