Evidence of the "transformation" of North Carolina's
Northeast Region is the migration of development to the “Inner Banks” where
high wealth individuals are investing and choosing to live. Areas of our
region that historically have not benefited from traditional economic
development efforts are now the centerpiece.
Developers are beginning to capitalize on this growing market by
creating affordable and attractive planned communities in our Inner
Banks communities. One such example is Bertie County with the
development,
Innsbrook, located on the Albemarle Sound and centered
around an Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course. Another example is
Albemarle
Plantation in Perquimans County.
The transforming potential of such developments is
immense and our regional marketing efforts will focus on
complementing this economic development opportunity.
