Commission Board
North Carolina's Northeast
Commission is a regional economic development
organization created by the NC General Assembly
to implement programs to support and stimulate
business and tourism development in the
sixteen counties in North Carolina's Northeast
Region. The eighteen-member Board of Directors
adopts policies and programs of work to
accomplish the Commission's overall mission to
improve the quality of life for the citizens of
North Carolina's Northeast Region.
Members of the Board of the Northeast Commission
are appointed by the Governor, Speaker of the
House, and Senate President Pro Tem.
